How You Can Help.

Buy A Picture. Fund A Picture.
I am in the process of setting up an online merchant system for viewing and purchasing prints of my photographs. That extension to the site will launch very soon. The system will allow you to browse through a portfolio of images, ranging from documentary work in Africa, Mexico and Brazil to live and promotional shoots with bands like Mutemath, Underoath, Paper Route, My Brightest Diamond, The Triceratops and more. Just scroll through the images, select one, two or twenty if your fancy, and purchase them right there. Click here to view the temporary portfolio. The conduit for transfering funds will be PayPal, the most reliable money transferal service on the web today. You will not need a PayPal account to purchase, however. All you need is a debit or credit card.

What I'm asking is that you consider more than just which picture would look best in your hall or bedroom. I'm asking that you consider the value of documentary journalism in our world and the value of peering into the lives of others and living within a globally conscious worldview. In order to capture some stories, sacrifice is required, and often there are tangible needs that precipitate it. The conflict that I have left this country to document in no way lends itself to a back-door opportunity to make some extra cash. My goal is not to propose it as that. My hope is that through this initiative we can raise some awareness about the issue of displacement and genocide by means of sharing the stories of those afflicted. I also hope that you will see that powerful journalism, as is true with any worthwhile cause, costs something if it is to be sustainable and truly impactful. I realize you probably don't have a whole lot of money. I don't either. But film is expensive and so are tickets to ride in planes to places far away. My hope is that this opportunity will not only give you the chance to get some cool pictures on your wall, but also to offset the monetary cost of telling this story so that I can continue doing so in the future.

Once completed, proceeds from the multimedia DVD will benefit Persecution Project Foundation and individuals in the pictures who are in need.

I really hope that you will be more than just a spectator of the conditions in eastern Africa, and I'm glad to be able to share this experience with you.

Sincerely,
